1Challenge
Molten glass aggressively attacks tank wall brick, demanding dense, erosion-resistant, precisely dimensioned blocks. Corners and doghouse areas required complex shapes within ±1mm, on a tight schedule.
2Solution
Fused-cast AZS blocks were used for tank walls and pavements in contact with glass, silica brick for the breast wall and regenerator. Shaped bricks were CNC-machined to the furnace drawings, numbered per crate, with third-party physical testing arranged.
3Result
All batches passed third-party physical inspection with zero defects. The customer recognised the tight joint quality and has started discussions for the second-phase cold repair.
